Ami-Lee Wilder was a serious student, who loved to read and held herself to high academic standards. While she finished her final year of school at Gulf Breeze High School, Ami-Lee was also a dual-enrollment student at Pensacola Junior College. Ami-Lee flourished at PJC; she loved the freedom, independence, and academics of attending college. She did so well at PJC that she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. When Ami-Lee died in an automobile accident at 18 years old in August 1990 while attending PJC, her family and friends joined her parents, Harrison and Martha Wilder, to establish this special scholarship in Ami-Lee's memory.

Award is up to $1,000 per semester/per student. If criteria are maintained, students can receive subsequent awards in consecutive semesters. Unused funds may be carried over to the next term. Student must be part-time or full-time in an AA, AS, AAS, BS, or BA program and must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien living in Northwest Florida. Student must have completed at least 12 college credit hours. Preference will be given to, but not limited to, members of Phi Theta Kappa, Theta Chi Chapter, and older returning students. The Ami-Lee Wilder Memorial Endowed Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, and books.

In 1966, Bill Clover, a self-described “hippie,” began his journey with PSC as an art teacher working with over 10,000 students in numerous classes and fields, from ceramics to art history. Despite no initial intent to stay long, Clover would end up teaching at PSC for 52 years and would leave a lasting legacy in the Pensacola art world through his passion for others and through his community volunteer service. Clover was a married father with two daughters and a granddaughter, who volunteered at Manna Food Pantries for nearly a decade. In 2014, he received the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award for contributing more than 7,000 hours of service to Manna. Though he is no longer with us, Bill Clover continues to assist art students at the College, where he has a pottery studio named in his honor, as he was the longest-serving faculty member in the school’s history.  

Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Student must be enrolled in a visual arts program of study. Student may be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis.

The Bill Clover Endowed Memorial Scholarship may cover tuition, fees, books, and/or materials required by the syllabi.

Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 at the time of awarding. Student must be a resident of Santa Rosa County, Florida. Student may be enrolled part-time or full-time in a minimum of 6 credit hours per term. Financial need is not a requirement for this scholarship. As a community service organization, the Blackwater Pyrate of Milton, Florida has three core missions: historical maritime preservation, boater safety, and local waterways cleanup. To further our mission of historical maritime preservation, the organization makes scholarship support available to qualifying student(s) from Santa Rosa County. There is no specific major/program of study requirement for this scholarship. The hope is that the recipient will develop a strong interest in our local history, and forge a career path with plans to preserve, and perhaps add to, Blackwater area history.  

Blackwater Pyrate Local History Preservation Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, books, and/or materials required by the syllabi.

Scholarship recipients may be required to attend a meeting with the donor.

Bryan Allen is a man who gives with his whole being, always shows up when needed, and has the heart to protect and help those who cannot do so for themselves. Bryan and his siblings were raised to take pride in a strong work ethic and to value not only helping others, but helping others help themselves. His giving spirit has caused a ripple effect for so many! Bryan’s older sister, Michelle Lawyer, chose to establish the Bryan Allen Ripple Effect Endowed Scholarship in honor of her brother’s selflessness, and to enable others to embody all of Bryan’s great qualities in their chosen fields so that they may too start their own ripples.

Student must demonstrate a financial need for supplemental funding. Student must submit a statement explaining why they should be considered for a scholarship. Student must submit a statement describing their education and life goals. Student may be enrolled in any number of credit hours. Student must be enrolled in a Social Work, Education, Law, or Criminal Justice field of study. Preference will be given to first generation in college students. Members of the family will review candidates prior to awarding.

The Bryan Allen’s Ripple Effect Endowed Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, books, and/or materials required by the syllabi.

1. Applicants who are vocational secondary level school graduates from a course with an emphasis on engineering technology.
2. Applicants considered to be highly qualified by the Department Head of Engineering Technology Department.

Award is up to $1,000.00 per term as funds allow. Award is for the upcoming Fall term only. Student must demonstrate a financial need for supplemental funding. Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Student must be a United States citizen or permanent resident. Student must be a resident of Northwest Florida. Student must enroll or be enrolled in a vocational program of study. Student may be enrolled on a full-time or half-time basis. Recipients must attend the Cantonment Rotary Club Annual Scholarship Luncheon. Preference is given to students with disabilities.

The Cantonment Rotary Club Vocational II Student Endowed Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, and/or books.

Chef Earl Peyroux grew up in New Orleans, raised on a diet of Shrimp Remoulade, Oysters Rockefeller, Bananas Foster and a slew of French-touched Cajun and Creole dishes. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, was an understudy to Julia Child and Paul Prudhomme, and wrote seven cookbooks with over 120,000 copies sold. His recipes ranged from Creole and Cajun staples to French-inspired dishes, though he mastered and taught a variety of international recipes and cooking techniques. After moving to Pensacola in the 1970s, Earl Peyroux was a culinary instructor at Pensacola Junior College when the campus public television station, WSRE, asked him to serve as host of a local cooking show in 1977 and the Pensacola News Journal brought him on as a food columnist. WSRE originally booked Chef Peyroux for 13 shows, but he ended up hosting more than 600 episodes of “Gourmet Cooking” over the next 18 years. The popular show was picked up by the Public Broadcasting System in 1982 and aired nationally through the early 1990s. Earl Peyroux called Pensacola home for four decades before he died on Thursday, October 23, 2003 one day before his 79^th birthday. He is fondly remembered as a Southern gentleman whose love for cooking was rivaled only by his love for sharing his cooking tips with others. Peyroux's loved ones joined forces to establish this scholarship in his memory in 2022.

To honor Peyroux’s passion for both the culinary arts and for sharing this love of culinary art with others through teaching and through cooking in restaurants, students may be enrolled in a culinary, hospitality, business, entrepreneurship, or teaching field of study with first preference given to students in a culinary program. Student must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Student must be a United States citizen or resident alien. Student may be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis. The Earl Peyroux Memorial Endowed Scholarship may cover tuition, fees, books, and/or materials required by the syllabi. This award is for the term indicated only. Jerry Wade Mathes was born on November 7, 1947 and was a lifelong resident of Pensacola. He was a member of Escambia Lodge #15, Scottish Rite, and Hadji Shrine. Sadly, Jerry passed away at age 61 on June 11, 2009. In 1973, he founded Mathes Electric, a Panhandle-based independent electrical distributor and lighting showroom; this was the cornerstone of his many businesses including Mathes of Alabama, Mathes Lighting and Lamp, and many commercial and residential investments. He was an enthusiastic entrepreneur who was always seeking new business challenges. To honor his commitment to the profession, Jerry’s daughter (Kimberly Mathes Cheney) and granddaughter (Lauren Paige Cheney), who now co-own The Mathes Group, have generously chosen to establish a scholarship in his name, which will benefit aspiring electricians in pursuit of education at Pensacola State College.

Kyle Alden Lowrey was a dual enrollment student at Pensacola State College (then Pensacola Junior College) while in high school and later graduated Cum Laude from PJC with an AA degree in Pre-Engineering in 2010. Although he went on to the University of Arkansas, he reflected that his days at PJC were some of his happiest as a student. It was Kyle’s plan to one day give back to the school that made him feel so alive and welcome. Kyle had a passion for experiencing life with gusto and taking on new challenges and adventures. Sadly, Kyle passed away on May 29, 2017, in Pensacola after a short illness at only 26 years old.

In his honor, Kyle’s family started an endowed scholarship that will benefit PSC students into perpetuity. The scholarship was established in 2017 and first awarded in 2018. For Kyle's family, knowing that the recipients of their son’s memorial scholarship are out and about spreading kindness and positivity in the community is a tangible reminder that they are investing not only in the future success of these students, but in Kyle’s continued impact on the world that he loved.

"What historical figure, living or dead, do you draw inspiration from and why? How do you plan to pass along this inspiration to the world around you?" This individual could be a politician, musician, artist, writer, poet, scientist, ... The only requirement is that the person is someone who has been recognized as having made some contribution to our world.

The Lowrey family will review applicants prior to awarding, and a virtual meeting will be scheduled between the Lowrey family and the scholarship recipient.

Scholarships may be awarded on an as needs basis. Student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Student must be a United States citizen or resident alien. Student must be a Santa Rosa County resident. Student may be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis. Student must provide a written statement stating why he/she should be awarded this scholarship. Pensacola State freshmen must provide a high school transcript. Recipients must give back to the community by participating in the First United Methodist Church of Milton music program in some capacity. If numerous students meet this requirement, then preference will be given to Milton High School graduates who are former Music Makers, band, SGA, and/or NJROTC members.
